Illinois State Archery Tournament Changes in 2022-2023 Season

State Dates Announced and New Qualifying Format

This year’s State Tournament will be held at Champaign Centennial High School on March 24-25, 2023.  We think it is a very nice venue that will host a successful State Tournament.  The host school is also holding an IBO/3D event on Saturday March 24th at Jefferson Middle School (next to the high school) for teams that would like experience with shooting 3D targets prior to the State IBO/3D Tournament.

We are aligning ourselves with most other states and national tournaments by adjusting the criteria for attending the state tournament.  Qualifying tournaments and a minimum score will be required this season. Each team will need to attend a minimum of one qualifying tournament prior to the state tournament.   These scores will be used to set tiers for registration along with minimum scores to qualify for the tournament.

IDNR is piloting the rotation of the state tournament to a different host site this year. More amenities, improved space and lighting is needed due to the rapid growth in the archery program in Illinois over the past few years! We look forward to hosting the bullseye state tournament at Champaign Centennial High School, Champaign, IL in the newly renovated facilities. An IBO/3D State Tournament will also be available this year, with Cuba High School hosting. Watch for more information to come on the 3D/IBO State Tournament!
